Review: Little Black Bag March 2013

I wasn’t going to open a Little Black Bag for the month of March, but I filled out a survey that got me a $25 dollar item for free. I didn’t want to waste this, so I went ahead and opened a bag. I am super burnt out on LBB, so this will be my final one for a while. Click HERE to shop Little Black Bag now & open a $30 or $50 bag. Sorry I don’t have a picture of the box or full contents this month… everything was SO rushed after spring break and I had so much to photograph that I couldn’t worry about boxes (I needed to throw them away).

First item I got (possibly traded for?) was this All the Rage Seed Bead Cuff in pink and tan. It retails for $18. I haven’t worn it yet, but it is a very feisty and appropriate color for spring… that is, if spring will ever come. Why is it still so cold at the end of March?!

The item I chose for my bag was this Danielle Nicole Davina Mini Crossbody for $28. This could work for when I get tired of lugging my huge Marc Ecko bag around. It is very stylish and utilitarian.

This is the Goose Creek Candle in Vanilla Wonderland scent for $20. Either this or the cuff was my extra item of the month, though both were a surprise and not ones I initially chose. The scent of this is pretty fantastic, but I need another candle the way Yankee Candle needs a new one. In fact, I could open my own Yankee Candle store with the sheer amount of candles that I own. My room is a definite fire hazard.

This is Fusion Beauty’s Illumifill Line Filling Luminizer retailing for $49. This was the promo of the month. I have a love/hate relationship with the promos, because they use them to only give you ONE extra item from their store… an extra item should be an extra item, it shouldn’t count as one of the two items we are promised in our bags apart from the ones we pick. I have no interest in this, but it wasn’t possible to trade it because you can only trade extra items for other extra items and not for an item in the store. I hope all of that makes sense. As a Women’s Studies major, all of these anti-aging beauty products really grate on my nerves after a time.

Little Black Bag March Grade: C
My Favorite Item from the Box: I suppose the candle? The trouble with a C grade is that I don’t care about the bag one way or another. I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it. It’s just there.

Final Answer: This bag had a retail value of $115, and I spent about $35. I know it honestly seems like I am turning into my name – The Box Bitch. I swear I am very excited to bring you all these updates this week. And in coming reviews I am excited about a lot of the products. I actually hate giving out C’s, because it means I’m not passionate about the bag one way or the other. I honestly just need a break from LBB because I have so many accessories now that it’s just plain overwhelming. I want to make clear as well that this is not a dig on the company… I just need to wait until items or promotions come along that I truly want. I like the boxes I have stayed with and switched to, and I am very passionate about reviewing them in the coming months. Hopefully I have finally found boxes that are a perfect fit for me.
